McKinney Texas was built from a 3000-acre land owned by William Davis in 1849. Farmers were given a chance to plant corn and different types of cotton, build churches, schools and banks at the same time so the city was initially built by farmers. Every Saturday in the summer, they offer a Farmer’s Market wherein you’ll have a chance to buy organic yogurt, jam and bread. Collin Country Historical Society and Museum

Heard-Craig Historic Center
The Heard-Craig Historic Center consists of a 7,000 sq. ft. historic home and carriage house built in 1900. The home contains breathtaking stained glass, original furnishings, personal belongings, family heirlooms, and art collected by the Heard and Craig families. The Heard family was instrumental in the early development of the city of McKinney. Tours at the center tell the story of a fascinating family dedicated to their community and each other.
